What Is a STAR Method?

The STAR method gives you a straightforward format you can use to tell a story by laying out the Situation, Task, Action and Result. It also provides a clear framework for answering the behavioral-based interview questions you may be asked during the interview process.

🏝️ Situation

Set the scene, provide a context, and detail the background. Where? When?

✅ Task

Describe what your responsibility was in that situation. Describe the challenge and expectations of what needed to be done. Why?

🏃 Action

Elaborate on your specific action. What did you do? How? What tools did you use?

🌟 Result

Explain the results. What outcomes did you achieve? What happened? What did you learn? Accomplishments, recognition, savings, etc.
